About
About NoFaceTube
An independent editorial project about faceless video made properly: what the bar is, what the platforms require, and how to make work that clears both.
Not yet reviewed by the editor
NoFaceTube is an independent reference site for faceless video: a public quality standard, a dated tracker of YouTube, TikTok, and Meta policy changes, niche and craft guides, and Clean Take, our voiceover checker for Windows.
We cover faceless video made properly: researched, directed, designed, and honest about how it was made. Most of what is published about faceless channels comes from companies that sell tools, and much of it describes the fastest possible version of the work. We document the hard version, and the platform rules that make it the version worth making.
Who runs it
NoFaceTube is run by Steve, its editor. Steve decides what the site covers, sets the editorial rules below, reviews pages before they are marked reviewed, and builds Clean Take. To reach him, email hello@nofacetube.com.
What we publish
- The Standard: a public rubric of eight criteria for faceless work that holds up.
- The rules tracker: dated, sourced entries on platform policy changes that affect faceless creators.
- Niche guides: the production bar, formats, and policy risk, niche by niche.
- Guides: policy, craft, and strategy, in depth.
- Tools: Clean Take, our paid voiceover checker, and free browser tools for specific production problems.
- The Channel Index: faceless channels curated by hand against the Standard. It has no entries yet; each one is added only after a person has watched the channel.
What we will not publish
- Income claims, or promises of views, monetization, or program eligibility.
- Advice on hiding AI use from platforms, labels, or review.
- Invented statistics, case studies, testimonials, or quotes.
- Claims of testing or first-hand results that are not shown on the page.
NoFaceTube does not operate public faceless channels, so you will not find growth stories here. Expertise has to be visible on the page: sourced policy entries and a public rubric today, and teardowns of public channels and scored Channel Index entries as they are completed.
Editorial standards
Sourcing
Every factual or policy claim links to its source where the claim is made. We prefer primary sources: platform help centers, official blogs, and newsrooms. After those come reputable publications. If we cannot confirm a claim, we leave it out.
Dates and verification
Each rules tracker entry shows the date the change was announced or took effect, and a last-verified date: the last time someone checked that every source still says what the page says. Entries not re-verified within 120 days are flagged as due for a check. Other pages show an updated date when they change materially.
Corrections
If you find an error, a dead link, or a source that does not support what we wrote, send a correction with the topic “Correction or source issue”. We fix errors, and when a correction changes the substance of a page, the page says so.
How AI is used in making this site
We use AI the way we tell creators to: as a tool, not as the author. AI tools assist with research, such as finding and summarizing sources, and with drafting and editing. A person sets what we cover and the editorial rules every draft must follow, and reviews each page before it is marked reviewed.
A page is marked reviewed only after a person has read it in full and checked its claims against its sources. Until then, guides, rules entries, niche pages, the Standard, the calculator, and this page say “Not yet reviewed by the editor” under the headline. The disclosure page has the full policy.
Independence
NoFaceTube is not affiliated with YouTube, Google, TikTok, or Meta. Tool vendors do not pay for coverage, and placement in the Channel Index is not for sale. When we recommend a tool or an approach, the reason is the Standard.
We make and sell one product: Clean Take, a voiceover checker for Windows. When a page mentions Clean Take, it is pointing you to our own app, not reviewing someone else’s.
Affiliate links
There are no affiliate links on the site today. If we add them, they will be labeled where they appear, and a commission will never decide what we recommend. The details are on the affiliate and AI disclosure page.
